After the Young Turks Club ended its 3rd full album activities, yours truly and Kang Min played a key role in the creation of the Gorilla Crew. Among the members, there were YG dancer Jo Ki Hyung, Bboy Expression, Poppin’ Hyun Joon, Jeon Nama, Woo Sung, Woo Young.
At first, Gorilla Crew was about creating shows that would be a mix between hip hop dancing, popping, and bboying. We officially started our activities through the Lee Juno’s “Dance Factory” (dance lessons videos). Besides, with the beginning of Gorilla Crew, bboying and poppin got exposure. Through the “Dance Factory”, the Gorilla Crew also had many performances on TV and shows anyway. Unfortunately, a part of the crew, me included, left the crew once the “Dance Factory” activities were over.
After that, the Gorilla Crew was reborn around Jeon Nama (hip-hop), Poppin Hyun Joon (poppin), Expression crew members Lee Woo Jae, Lee Sang Min, Ha Hwi Dong (bboy). Their performances were a mix between standing and bboy moves. Despite portraying a speedy feeling while showing dynamic choreographies and individual and split moves, their performances were the best.
According to the name Gorilla Crew, they showed variety between step, house, hip hop, bboy and funk. This dance team still exists and is one of the teams that is the most appreciated among dancers.
